Quite often, camping and leisure vehicles are parked up and stored for considerable periods of time. It's during these times that certain problems can occur.
Deterioration due to ultra-violet light and low-level ozone causes hardening and splitting of the sidewall and tread surface. Also, prolonged periods without movement can cause the tyres to gain a 'memory' of the position and become distorted. Check tyres and pressures thoroughly before any planned journey – don't be the one to get stuck on the hard shoulder for hours!
Tips:
• During periods of inactivity, cover the wheel/tyre assemblies with waterproof/breathable material. • Start and move the vehicle regularly. • Check the tyre pressures regularly – paying close attention to the valve assembly for any signs of perishing or leaks.
We already look after many customers who own recreational type vehicles. With all types and makes of tyre available from extra load to vehicle specific, our service vehicles are equipped and ready to get you on the road safely.
